This "Desertion" collection has only been out for two days (1st August 2012) and is already causing a storm, EASTPAK has created something pretty unique by collaborating with the Danish designer label, Wood Wood. They have tried to combine EASTPAK's North American heritage with Wood Wood's simplistic feel and have produced a collection that captures the spirit of the desert landscape with it's mix of natural materials, soft colours and ethnic motifs (each style actually features a different geometric motif evocative of North American folk art!). They describe this collection as " Bringing the desert to the city, fusing the nomadic spirit of both the wayward explorer and the urban insider.
I personally love the use of natural colours and materials such as tanned leather, suede and waxed canvas, they all mix well together to create a modern yet still highly functional bag for anyone to use. I have very high expectations for this collaboration and hope to see more from them!
